Want to live longer? Get a friend with four legs!

Earlier studies have shown that owning a pet can reduce anxiety, lower blood pressure and even improve the odds of surviving a heart attack. Now the American Heart Association, in a report published in the journal Circulation, has recommended that owning a pet, particularly a dog, reduces the risk of deadly heart disease. The report says that dog owners are more likely to be physically active and less vulnerable to the effects of stress.
